The Ink Factory receives investment from existing and new shareholders

Producer of premium film, television and games for a global audience

The Ink Factory: A fast-growing studio with a focus on premium narrative material

The company has an exclusive and highly successful relationship with the author John Le Carré, and has successfully produced a number of titles to great acclaim, including the multi-award winning The Night Manager. The company’s latest project is another co-production with the BBC and AMC, based on John le Carré’s The Little Drummer Girl. The six-part series is to be directed by Park Chan-wook (The Handmaiden, Old Boy) and will star Florence Pugh (Lady Macbeth, The Falling) and Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies) in the lead roles.

Additionally, The Ink Factory is working with the owners and creators of other highly respected works, with Drew Pearce’s Hotel Artemis starring Jodie Foster and Sterling K Brown in post-production, and upcoming projects including The Spy Who Came in From the Cold, produced in association with Paramount TV for the BBC and AMC.

The company has also made a move into games, partnering with one of the games industry’s top talents, Matt Nava, to found digital studio Giant Squid. Its first game, the twice-BAFTA Game nominated ABZÛ, was released in August 2016.

The Ink Factory secures £136m in funding

This new round of funding will go towards the development and production of high-quality film and television projects, as well as enabling The Ink Factory to further expand its IP acquisition and digital activities from its headquarters in London and Los Angeles.

The equity providers include The Ink Factory’s first round investors, all of whom participated in the new financing, as well as new investor 127 Wall Productions.

The Ink Factory has also secured a senior debt arrangement led by Natixis Coficiné, which will provide cash flow for their productions and expand the facilities put in place for The Night Manager, for which Coficiné was the senior loan provider.

Stella EOC acted as sole advisor to The Ink Factory.
